The Foundation for Development Planning, Inc. (FDPI) collaborates with institutions in the public, private, and civic sectors in support of sustainable development initiatives in the Caribbean, and beyond.
The FDPI currently participates in the following inter-governmental arrangements and civil society networks:
⇒ Was granted Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council in July 2021. View the FDPI’s ECOSOC profile.
⇒ Was invited in 2021 to participate in the meetings of the Caribbean Environment Programme as an Observer.
⇒ Is a member of the Protected Areas Conservation Action Team of the Caribbean Landscape Conservation Cooperative, a cooperative arrangement involving the U.S. Government, Government of Puerto Rico, Government of the U.S. Virgin Islands, and universities and civil society organizations in the two territories.
⇒ Is a member of the Civil Society Network of the Global Environment Facility (GEF-CSO Network).
⇒ Subscribed to the Regional Public Mechanism of the Regional Agreement on Access to Information, Public Participation and Justice in Environmental Matters in Latin America and the Caribbean (“Escazú Agreement“).
⇒ Is a Stakeholder with the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES).
